DIY Black Button Down with Leopard Pocket

helloxsue:

I bought a black button down tunic from h&m for $13. I never wear tunics the dress shirt was $20…so I decided to alter it up a bit :)

Before:

I snipped and sewed a little bit and:

I had to make it more me, so a leopard print pocket was a must! I’ll definitely be wearing it now :)

Also made these feather earrings from the leftover dreamcatcher supplies:

I saw these boots on the Free People website and fell in love with them immediately. What’s cool is that each one is handmade and original; no one looks the exact same as the other.
Unfortunately, I don’t have $438 to throw down on shoes but their retail description taught me exactly how to make them: Boot base will be western-style with varying colors, toe shapes (pointed vs round), and heel heights. Belts are also found vintage and applied to the boots by hand, so the belts are one-of-a-kind just like the boots.
Looks like I’ve got a trip to the local Goodwill and Value Villages for the boots and belts, and an afternoon/evening of measuring, sewing and gluing coming up. I’m excited! :D
